Hi there folks,

Just wanted to relate a few things.

First of all, *thanks* to Bertha May Hall for her recent "Stray Disbrow"
postings. I'm sure these will be helpful to somebody in the NJ group.

*Thanks* also to Walt "Diesel Diz" Disbrow for clueing us in to the
interesting items posted on E-bay. I got there too late to see the Louis
Disbrow postcard, but a person can do a search for "Disbrow" at just about
any time on E-bay and get a list of things to look at (and bid on, if you're
so interested). A lot of these items will be comic books by an artist named
"Jay Disbrow", which seem to be collector's items. But I've seen all sorts
of interesting items there, including a couple of old bottles from the "H.
P. Disbrow" bottling company of Old Bridge, NJ. I've saved some of the
photos that accompany these listings and I will think about putting them on
the Disbrow Web Site one of these days.

As I slowly try to work my way back into this pursuit of Disbrow genealogy,
I feel that one of the first items I should look into is the re-printing of
my book, "DESCENDANTS OF THOMAS & MERCY (HOLBRIDGE) DISBROW, Part One",
which has been out-of-print for several years now. I'm constantly getting
queries from people about the book, or about their families which I know are
in the book. Some suggestions from you folks on the Disbrow Mailing List
might be helpful. Should I have the book printed in hardcover as it was
originally done, or should I look into having it done in a cheaper way? I
have already written (e-mail) to Anundsen Publishers, who did both the
original printing and the 1996 re-printing for me, for an estimate. As soon
as I hear from them I'll let you know what their estimate is. Another
suggestion I've had, and it sounds very interesting, is to have the book put
on CD-rom. I know very little about that, but I'll look into it. I have
thought about getting a CD-writer for my computer. But would I be able to do
the job myself? What sort of format would work so that everyone with a
CD-rom would be able to read it? Those are things I'm not too familiar with.
Be glad to hear from others who have experience with such things.

I haven't done a thing with the web site all summer, as you might have
noticed. My intentions are the best, but my time is still kind of limited.
But I do hope to make some changes there before long. I don't plan to
eliminate anything on the site as of right now (as I threatened to do
several months ago). There are things that need updating, though, and I'll
try to get to those ASAP.

Nothing more for today. As of this date we have 74 subscribers to this
mailing list. I am getting bounces for the following address and it will be
removed shortly:

Mike
