(3-10-6-8) EDWARD JONATHAN-5 DISBROW, cont'd
"There is left to remember him in his death an aged wife whose health is
poor and who needs the sympathy of friends. Besides the children mentioned
above there are seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren, besides a
large number of more distant relatives and a host of friends. Funeral
services were held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Peacock of Watervliet,
Thursday, Sept. 10 at 2 o'clock, Elder L. J. Branch of Battle Creek
officiating, and the remains were laid to rest in the Watervliet cemetery."
In their marriage record, Emma Jane Yerrington was "of Bainbridge,
Mich.", which is in Berrien Co. A George W. Yerrington, age 60, of
Bainbridge, signed an affidavit, dated 4 Mar. 1903, in Edward Disbrow's
pension file, stating he had served in the same company and regiment as
Edward in the Civil War.

I have placed Charles as a son of (5-6-5) Caleb Disbrow, though I lack
any positive proof. The fact that Charles lived in Norwalk, where Caleb
also resided, coupled with his birth date of 1812, tend to make a possible
connection with Caleb.
Charles E. Disbrow was listed in the 1850 census of Norwalk when he
was age 37 and his occupation was a jeweller. Abigail A. Disbrow 43, Emily
E. Disbrow 14, James H. Disbrow 10 and Anna Knight 87, all born in CT,
constituted the rest of his household that year.
In 1860 the widow "Abbey Disbrow", age 54, her children Emily 23 and
James 20, and Alfred Jackson 28, were living in Norwalk.

The 1850 census of Norwalk, CT, lists Phineas S. Disbrow, age 38, born
NY, living in the household of his brother-in-law Jesse Sherwood and his
family. Both men were shoemakers. Phineas' wife Sally and (presumed)
daughter Catherine were living with his father Sherwood (Phineas Sr.) in
Norwalk. Sally was 33 and Catherine 16.
Ten years later still finds Sally (called "Sarah J.") and Catherine
living with Phineas S. Sr. and his wife Rheuama in Norwalk, but Phineas Jr.
was not listed in the census of 1860 in CT or elsewhere that we can find.
Perhaps he had died between 1850 and 1860, but no death record has been located.

Noah was a shoemaker living in Norwalk, CT at the time of the 1850
census, with his second wife Esther M. and daughter Isabella S. By 1860
Noah and his family had moved to Chemung Co., NY, settling in the city of
Elmira. In the census of 1870 Noah was listed in the 4th ward of Elmira,
age 51, a cutter in a boot and shoe factory, with Ester M. 45, Isabelle S.
26, Charles A. 19 (working in a photograph gallery), Ella F. 15 and Edwin W. 3.
In 1900 Noah was living with his two daughters, Isabella and Ella, in
Elmira, his wife having apparently died by that time.
Sarah Maria and Esther Matilda Webb were half-sisters, their father
Epenetus Webb having first married Sarah Brown, and second Rhoda Disbrow,
daughter of Elias. Thus Noah and his second wife Esther were probably third
cousins.

Children, by 2nd wife:
(5-6-7-3-2) Charles A. b. c1851 CT
