You won't learn any more about your subclade from the mtDNA plus test but
it was still worthwhile doing. 23andMe only have a small database with
about 30,000 customers. Many of their customers have tested for health reasons
and aren't interested in genealogical matches. Family Tree DNA have over
100,000 mtDNA test results in their database so you will be able to find out
if your brother has any matches. An HVR1+HVR2 match is not necessarily of
genealogical significance but it might be beneficial if your match is from
the same geographical location.
When your brother's results come through you will be able to add him to
the appropriate haplogroup project. There is a list of mtDNA haplogroup

You can always upgrade to the FGS test at a later date.
