I would say you might be related. What is the haplogroup? A common group
might be less likely and less common one more likely. I'd suggest testing
out to 67 and she what happens. How far back can the Americans trace there
ancestry?

Subject: [DNA-NEWBIE] Family connections
Hi,
I have had a 37 marker test with FT DNA and i match 37 out 37 with a first
cousin. I do have two people who are distant cousins to each other who
match 36 out of 37 markers to myself , they have a completely different
surname to myself and they live in the USA.
In my matches on FT DNA the only other matches are at 33 out of 37 which i
assume are not any family .
What i would like to know is , the two people in the USA with a different
surname are they family and if so in what sort of time frame?
Patrick
