Dear all

I am not R1b1c7, but if you don't mind am hanging out here to find out
about new SNp tested individuals.

Regards JL's questions about European STR haplotypes that may identify
R1b1c7 individuals. Here is my view.

* There have been several thousand individuals who have now tested for
M222, many more than are on my SNP page. I am sure if one came up M222+
and was way off modal we would have heard about it by now. My
conclusion? Way off modal M222+ are very rare or maybe do not exist.

* There is definitely a case to take "border line" examples of R1b1c7
especially from other countries and SNP test them. If they match 65-67
with somebody whose ancestors are from Ireland that is already SNP
tested M222+ we can assume recent migration. The interesting cases are
those that are a GD >5/37 from any known matches in the database. I
think it is still quite possible to find a M222+ European group that is
M222+ ~GD of >10 from the modal. If you did get such a group my bet is
it would be North of the Rhine.

I repeat SNP test them everything else is speculation.
