Mike do you know or can you ask your family if the potatoes were fried or boiled? And if there were any particular ingredients remembered.

Mike...
Even though there were gardens in Temesvar and grew lots of fruits and vegetables,
to my knowledge there weren't any special potatoes named Temesvar Potatoes.
There could be a different interpretations about the Temesvar Potatoes.
It probable was just an ordinary potatoes dish, like potatoes salad or fried potatoes etc...the mother probable came from Temesvar, and mother probable told them that's how the dish was made in Temesvar and that's how they remembered it as Temesvar Potatoes.
Example, - in the 1960's we visited my father's relatives in Germany. The family had four children, ages between 4-10.
My mother decided to help with preparing dinner. This time she decided to make some "Fet-Krappen" to go with the soup we ate.
The four children observed my mother making these things which smelled to their delight. Mother gave each one a "Fet-Krappe", and off they went. Ten minutes later the children came back for some more cookies. They didn't returned by themselves but about 10-15 more children came with them. We could hear the children telling the others. "Kommt, bei uns gibt es Kanadischen Kuchen." - Come, you can get Canadian Kuchen at our place.
From that day on, the children didn't know they ate Fet-Krappen, the only thing they knew it was Canadian Kuchen.
Maybe same the story behind your recipe of Temesvar Potatoes.
If there is no Temesvar Potatoes recipe, is there a preference recipe you prefer?
Alex.
