Chris and all,
I too am so impressed with the muriels that seem to be in all the churches.
I wonder if it were only a few muriel artist in the region who were commissioned by the villages or if each village had their own local artist? I don't believe they are mentioned in the Mercydorf books, (as far as I know). And I do not recall reading about these artist anywhere on line. For sure, a God given talent.

I cannot get over the absolute beauty of the Church's in the Banat and I am sure in Europe in general. Why is that in North America the church's do not even come close to achieving the beauty of these village Church's. These villages are poor to the standards of what we enjoy in Canada and yet they have these beautiful structures. I don't get it.
