It doesn't matter which metal is used. I'll be thrilled just to have the mold.
Thank you so much for your work on our behalf.

I went to visit the work in progress. They have a die cast done as well
as one form of a "cookie" out of that cast. Next they will be making
the actual mold. He hopes to have it done by the end of the week.

He's going to make it out of aluminum - it's a sturdy aluminum which
feels like it will withstand pressing the "dough" into the mold. He's
only making 1 or 2 at this time and then letting me make a batch of
cookies to see if it works. If it doesn't we'll scrap the project. But
I think it will work.

The die cast looks identical to the mold I have - I've asked Jody if I
could email pictures of it and a wax mold I made out of it to post on
the cookie page, but she must be offline today.

The die maker is going to call his metal supplier and inquire about a
price for copper. It seems we all would rather have copper. He warned
me it could cost 2 - 3 times more due to pricing - something to do with
China and the price of all steel, metals, etc. And the price he gets is
only good for 24 hours - the price fluctuates daily like gasoline does.
When he calls with a price on the copper I'll re-email the group. It
would require him to order a sheet of copper that measure 8' x 4'.

I've only had 3 people say yes they want one - and 2 maybes.
