What a beautiful photo of that soup! It is clear from the recipe instructions that for Georg this is a "labor of love," as the ingredients are described with such respect: "let the dill and garlich slowly steam," and "Than give the sausage into the soup."

I wish I knew enough German to help him with the translations, and I hope others will find time to assist with a recipe or two to further his project. I just added beans and sour cream to my shopping list!

I made the Bohnensuppe last week, using the recipe from Georg's site and it was wonderful!
My family raved, they'd never put sour cream in bean soup before.

Recipe translation

Till some years I constantly extend a Index with recipes, but sadly only in german langauge. Many recipes were be prepared so - or so alike, in the Banat. Like all kitchens of the world, also the "banater kitchen" was influenced from a lot of other nations. There are some typical meals; why chertainly they were subject to be liable some regional influences. Not only from place to place there were variations, but evenly in such a way, from house to house. Therefore is here mentioned completeness for: It can be anyway even just one variant in each case, which was after-cooked and photographed. The offer is supplemented by selected recipes like there are part of a traditional component till today in the Romanian-, Hungarian-, Austrian-, Bohemjan- or Frankish- kitchen. The prescriptions are ~ alphabetically sorted.

Now my request: My english is not sufficient to translate all this recipes. I need some assistance.

To realise it, I would need also a minimum of organisation:

Everyone who will help me, sent an eMail to and note the titles of the recipes you will translate. I will add (just in time) to the INDEX-List the first three letters of you name and so the recipes translation at first is reserverd. Then you have time to tranaslate. When you sent translations, please sent for each recipe just one eMail. And build it so that I can locate TITLE, INGREDIENTS and PREPARATION. Why so&#8230; static?
Because my english is delimited by the conversation with my PC&#8230; ;-)
