Thank you, Nancy, for bringing this beautiful and sad letter at this particular time of the year. We often forget the trials of those who remained in the old country. We are indeed blessed and it is good to remember at Easter time. Thank you, Rose, for sharing this family heirloom with us. I was relieved to read that Eva made it to NJ.

Rose Vetter has translated a heart-rendering letter written by her aunt, Eva
Zentner in 1947 from the forced labor camp of Pasicevo/Altker, shortly
before their escape.

I have read enough of these letters to know their situation was very typical
of life in most of these labor camps, and fortunately Eva survived long
enough to find her way to Trenton, NJ and a new life. Her sad letter helps
us to always remember the plight of those less fortunate, whom must never be
forgotten. Thank you Rose, for sharing this important document with us.
