Andrea.

Not sure if this is the right Neumiller? But only one Peter Neumiller,
registered in Vienna in 1785, from Lemberger Glasshütte a. d. Hani. At the
age of 40, he travelled with his wife, 2 sons and 2 daughters, the went to
Hungary.
In the reign of Maria Theresia many Germans - the so-called "Danubian
Swabians"- immigrated to the 4 provinces of Hungary; the Swabian Turkei, the
Batschka, the Banat, and Croatia-Slavonia. Originally Catholic immigrants
were favoured, but after the Edict of Tolerance was issued by Emperor Joseph
II on December 21,1781 and he Charter of Settlement published in four
languages, Evangelical and Reformed immigrants arrived. They established the
denominationally mixed villages of Torschau. - 1784, Neu-Verbas - 1785,
Czervenka, - 1786 and Neu-Schowe. The other four communities - Sekitsch,
Klein-Ker, (Kisker), Bulkes and Jarek were exclusively Evangelical, All of
these communities are of special significance, because from these localities
further emigration took place to South Russia. The living conditions could
not have been very favourable, otherwise it remains inexplicable why so many
people from the above-mentioned villages joined the emigrants who were
moving down the Danube or taking the overland route in the years 1804-07.
They often travelled at night in their horsedrawn wagons, frequently with
false documents, through Siebenbürgen to the Bukowina, where they crossed
the frontier at Luczawa, in order to pass through Moldovaia and Bessarabia
into the already established colonies near Odessa.

Freudental, Russia, established in 1805, as a Evangelical community. In
1805, 36 families from Southern part of Hungary settled in Freudental,
Russia.
In 1807, 42 families from Southern Hungary, settled in Freudental, Russia.
Peter Neumüller, 41, his wife Elisabeth 43 his children Christian 19,
Nikolaus 17; Philipp 17; Johann 14; Heinrich 11; and Katharina.
Some of the settlers looked for more land and therefore moved to other
village. Some of the children married into other villages.

P.S.- the reason for the short history is, in case Adam, did not have the
information.
Happy birthday, to Herr Adam Neumüller.

Alex.
