Rose Mary,

It was very special for me to finally meet you in person after corresponding for years online. And you were all that I expected, a very nice lady --and so on the ball! It was good to meet your husband Bob, whom I've heard about all along.
You were really on the ball taking all these wonderful photos. I knew that you were missing in action during the ceremony, and didn't realize till later you had gone on the soccer field smack in front of all the clubs to get such great close up shots! You're a great photographer and the photo show is awesome! I like that program. My camera crashed during "the ceremony" and all the images I had taken were lost, but luckily Eve was kind enough to let me use her digital camera to get some memorable shots. I am a little behind on DVHH stuff, and trying to catch up, but we still have A LOT of images that Beth took, which I will be getting online very soon.

Yes it was so nice to meet up with all the DVHH'ers and I appreciated all the time and efforts they went to not only to get there, but to spend time in the DVHH booth. 2 days just went by too too fast!

Comment: the picture of Elizabeth Walter, standing with her books and art work . . . I bought a copy of the art work on the left, the teal color one and it is absolutely lovely! I'll cherish it forever!

Thanks for being there, hopefully we can all meet up again.

Jody McKim

Hello Listers,

If you are interested in seeing some photos of the Cleveland trip, just go to:

http://www.photoshow.com/watch/Nh4Ez8QQ

where I've put together a small photo show.

It was a wonderful time. Finally got to come face to face with people whom I only knew through the DVHH site and through our messages . . . Jody was just as charming in person and just as organized and efficient! It was great fun to spend time with Beth Tolfree, Eve Brown, Henry Fischer and his wife Jean, Hans K, Gary B, the Martinis from NJ, Dennis Bauer, and others. It was super to meet the authors of books I've read--Henry F, Katherine Flotz, and Elizabeth Walter. You'll see them all on the photos.

I was so impressed with the organization of the event and enjoyed the dancing and the gemütlichkeit! The good beer, tasty wursts, and the happy prosit shouts. But, most of all, I was impressed with the involvement of the young people. They did their dances so perfectly and were so incredibly friendly and polite--if that is the future of the Donauschwaben, we are lucky.

Even got to shake hands with Congressman Dennis Kucinich :)

Seriously consider going to the next gathering . . . you won't be sorry.

Rose Mary
