Alex,
I knew there was a group of Gilde from Grossjetscha, and one man named Joseph Gilde, whom I have also tracked in the US, but this was a different family. Hans G. info looks like the right family. After he went to the US, that could explain why they have no other info on him in the family book.
Thanks much,
Jody

Jody.
The Gilde's came from Grossjetscha, some went to Billed, then to Hodon and Knees.
Hans, information could be correct, because no other information about Josef Gilde anymore.
.
Alex.

Alex and all,
I am looking for descendant information and living relatives of Josef / Joseph Gilde b. 22 Jun 1879 in Hodon / Hodony.
He immigrated to the US 11 Oct 1904, and lived in the Bronx, NY and then Clifton, NJ. His Occupation: Silk Finisher.
His wife was Anna Marie (Mary) Csik, b. 1884 daughter of Miklos/Nikolaus Csik and Margit Lanyo of Mercydorf. (I have this church record). I haven't found a marriage record for this couple, yet.
I can not locate a 1910 Census for this family. As you can see, 1920/30 has his name spelled wrong. But he was still in the Bronx in 1920, and his wife's passport application dated 1922 reports their resident at 458 E. 143 St., Bronx, NY. So somewhere between 1922 and 1930 it appears they moved to NJ.

Alex, is there a family book for Hodon? Maybe it will give some siblings names.
Here is a summary of the research I have found on the surname Gilde (associated with Mercydorf) . . .
http://www.dvhh.org/mercydorf/research/surname-research/Gilde.htm
On this page, you will see a passenger record for Anna and child Mihaly age 4 in 1906, but either this is a different Anna/Josef or the son died before the 1920 census.
Any help, leads or suggestions are appreciated.
As always, thank you,
Jody McKim
