Dear Friends:
Please pardon the unsolicited message, but
I wanted to advise the membership of a rare
genealogy I am currently offering:
DOOLITTLE, WILLIAM FREDERICK. The Doolittle Family
in America. Part I [with] Part II [with] Part III
[with] Part IV. Together, 4 parts [of 7]. Cleveland,
[Np., Cleveland Printing Company], 1901-1904 8vo.
Pp. 472. Profusely illustrated throughout with fullpage
plates, mostly views and portraits. Light sun fading
about perimeters of a few wrappers, virtually no
yellowing to text. Very good-fine condition. First
and only edition. These are the first four parts of a
seven part compilation - the last of which contains
an index [not present here]. These are extraordinarily
well-preserved segments of this uncommon printed
genealogy. Concerns all known descendants of Abraham
"Dowlittell", the Puritan and progenitor of the family
name in America. He was in Boston as early as 1640,
but with reports of fertile land in the Connecticut
Valley, removed to New Haven shortly thereafter.
Although important as a group, they are equally
important in filling existing sets and as such, we
would sell them individually for $35.00 each. Please
inquire. $140.00
This set is in quite nice condition and rare.
I must offer it subject to prior sale and if of interest
please advise. Thanking you in advance for your
courtesy and consideration, I am,
Sincerely,
Christopher Hartman
