Hi All

I am new to the group and am researching family names from Gloucester, Bristol,
Somerset,
Cornwall & Dorset. The Dorset names include Lawrence, Cook and Rogers.

Sidney Lawrence my Great Grandfather was born in Sturminster Newton in 1881 he was
18 the youngest of 6 children and living with his parents William Lawrence & Eliza
(Maiden name not Known) in Fifehead Neville where they were Millers.

Some time after 1881 he went to work for a George Lawrence (I only know the name) in
the mill in Litton Cheney.

He joined the Police and was appointed PC115 in 1890 and was attached to Bodmin
Distict and later Helston District and eventually to Flushing where he died July 06,
1938.

I know little about Edith Maud Rogers my Great Grandmother, I understand that she
was a member of the Salvation Army in Dorchester. I have not found where they were
