Morning Marilyn;

My name is Richard Hinde and received a copy of your letter to Juan Carlos.
I've just started researching my grandgather, who came from Portland,
Dorset, and was wondering if you happened across any HINDE's in your
research.

The information I have to date is as follows:

John W. Hinde, b. March 20, 1862; Portland, Dorset, England
He went to Key West, Florida about 1880.

According to the 1871 census for Dorset there was only one John HINDE listed
at the age of 9. He is shown with his family on page 44, #168 Fortunes Well.

Father: Humphery, age 35, Carpenter, born Portland
Mother: Elizabeth Jane, age 29, wife, born Portland
Sister: Elizabeth Ann, age 10, scholar, b.Portland
Brother: Huge, age 7, scholar, b.Portland
Sister: Ellen, age 5, scholar,b.Portland
Brother: Geo? William, age 3, scholar, b.Portland
Sister: Martha (?), age 1, b.Portland

Some of his siblings went to Australia from what I heard as I was growing up
from an Aunt.

Thank you I advance for any information. All the best for the new year.

Sincerely,
Richard W. Hinde
