Subject: Caddy Family from Piddlehinton

Hi I am new to this list having discovered my ancestry enters your borders.

On my maternal side the family name is Caddy. My 2xg.grandfather Albert Caddy was chrn in 1834 at Piddlehinton, Dorset. His parents were Joseph Caddy and Harriet Barnett, married at Piddlehinton in 1833. Joseph we believe was a bridge builder.

Joseph and Harriet's other children are Edward David chrn 1836, Elizabeth chrn 1838, Edward Barnett (whose line is also in New Zealand) chrn 1844 and Walter chrn 1846.

I would be interested in any information on the Piddlehinton Caddys and some idea as to what Piddlehinton would have been like in the 1830's-40's.
