Subject: [DOR] 1851 census and Mariners
Date: Mon, 4 Sep 2000 05:28:45 -0700 (PDT)
Hello everyone,
I understand that for the 1851 census any Mariners
that were out to sea were still counted and that the
information was given once they returned to port. I'm
looking for a Joseph CASSON, age 27 or 28. Is there a
certain part of the index set aside for the Mariners
who were out to sea? If this isn't too much to ask,
I'd really appreciate a look up in the 1851 census for
him. He is not listed with his wife Mary. They were
married in Poole in Sept. of 1850 and their first
child was born in Poole in March, 1853, so I'm hoping
that he counted in the Poole census.
Thank you,
Marge
