Hi Roy
I saw your posting on the Dorset list about the CHUBB FAMILY. I am
finally getting around to my reply now. I don't know what kind of
response you had to your post, perhaps you already have all of this
information.
I am also researching CHUBB's in Dorset and I think there may be a
connection somewhere along the line by what I have found.
I looked the first John up in the Vital Records Index and found a
marriage of John Chubb to Sarah Conway on February 14, 1804 in Evershot,
Dorset. The source for this is FHL number 1279496. This is the
possible connection. One of John and Sarah's sons was William Chubb who
was my great,great-grandfather. Unfortunately, I have looked through
all the christenings for John and Sarah's children and do not come up
with an Isaac.
More promising was the information I found on George CHUBB. I found a
christening for George CHUBB in the Vital Records Index. The date is
December 26, 1852. The place is Symondsbury, Dorset and the parents are
listed as Isaac Chubb and Esther. The source is FHL number 1239250. I
then went to the 1881 census CD and found the following:
Dwelling: Salwayash Farm
Census Place: Netherbury, Dorset
Source: FHL film 1341512 PRO ref RG 11 Piece 2120 Folio 42 Page 19
George CHUBB M 28 m Symondsbury, Dorset
Sarah Ann M 34 f Powerstock, Dorset
Ellen 2 f Corscombe, Dorset
John George 4 m m Netherbury, Dorset
Maria TROTT W 70 f Cattistock, Dorset
George F. WATTS 6 m Askerswell, Dorset

That definately looks like yours!

Let me know if the first lot (John and Sarah) are yours.
