I've recently discovered that my 4X great grandfather, George Elliott, was born in Dorchester ( St.Peters) probably about 1780. He married Grace Simmons from Cornwall in Guernsey in 1802. I would like to find his birth and his parents name. Is anyone else researching this part of the Elliott family or possibly have any record of George Elliott's birth ? I would be very grateful for any help or ideas.
