Hi again, Jenni
Alan's check has brought up no MA Elijahs, so would it be worth your while considering a variant spelling? Unless we know the Old Testament, we modern bods can be forgiven for thinking 'Elisha' is not a male name. These days the female version is pronounced 'Elle-isha' but the name originated from a prophet living the same time as Elijah, his name being pronounced the same way - 'Eli-shah'.
In the myriads of Vatchers I sent you off-list there was an Elisha, born 1822 MA to William, a keeper, & Maria. My maths tells me he can't be your guy but there are possibilities the name continued to others, don't you think? Also, is there any point looking at Milborn St.Andrew as a birthplace, just a couple of miles from MA?
Kind regards, Maureen, damp NZ
