Can any one help me with a question of eligibility to be on the Militia Muster Roll for Wimborne in 1796, would the person in question have to be legally settled in Wimborne to be eligable, I do not think he was born there, but have not been able to find any PR or settlement paper that gives his place of birth.

If he was not legally settled in Wimborne, would he have to have been recorded in his own parish/place of birth ????

Or was the only condition being that he was resident in Wimborne.
