Every part of the following is pure speculation. I have particularly focussed
on the occupations of (1) 'schoolmaster' and (2) 'tax collector',.

Does Aj. = (1) adjudicator in the sense of being an examiner of school exam
papers, or (2) as an adjudicator as it applies in English Law . i.e. one who,
at the Order of the Bankruptcy Court, adjudicates a debtor to be a bankrupt
and transferring his/her property/assets to a trustee.

By continuing the schoolmaster thread, it may also be of interest to know
that throughout the 1920's 1930's and into the 1940's - a business k/a Board
Brothers conducted a very successful private school in Weymouth. It was The
Weymouth School of Shorthand & Typewriting. The Principal was a William E.
Board F.I.P.S., F.C.I..

Charmouth and Weymouth are both situated in Dorset and separated each from
the by about 20 miles.
