There seem to be an awful lot of ISP problems at the moment, especially (but
not exclusively) Australian ones.
I have had dozens of bounced messages over the last couple of days.

If you are unsubscribed from the list without your consent, it will be
because your ISP is bouncing your mail, or because Rootsweb is unable to
deliver to your ISP. Rootsweb will unsub you automatically after 4 bounces
otherwise the amount of bounced mail would clog up the whole system not to
mention my in box!

If you ISP is having problems you may not be getting mail at all and you may
not even know you have been unsubbed. I will not advise you for two
reasons.
First - if your mail is bouncing, my message to you will also bounce!
Second - I just don't have time to notifiy everyone whose messages bounce
that there may be a problem!

If this happens to you, you are welcome to resub. If you want more details,
contact me. I can double check for you to see if you are still on the list
or not. If I still have them, I can check your bounce messages to see if
there is any indication of what the problem was. Sometimes there is (eg a
full mail box), sometimes there isn't! If the problem continues (for example
you bounce straight off the list again!) , contact your ISP for help.

I will only personally unsub you without warning if you have a virus (in
which case I unsub first and ask questions afterwards for the protection of
other list members), or if you are rude to other listers or lists, or post
political, religious, inflammatory or commercial messages. If you do this
you'll be removed immediately and will not be allowed to rejoin! The Dorset
list has had very few problems of this sort, I'm pleased to say and I have
only ever had to unsub a couple of people for rudeness and have never had to
moderate the list.
