Hi all,
I read the message that Carole sent in about her Miss Brickell. Reminded me
of a visit I made to Dorset a couple of years ago. I was researching the
ALLEN family of Poole and took a look at the church (St. James) where they
were all matched and dispatched. As luck would have it the ladies sewing
circle was meeting (I think it was a Tuesday) and I was invited to join them
for some tea. I had a wonderful couple of hours chatting with the ladies of
the church many of whom were well into their eighties. Of particular
interest was a Miss JOLIFFE who was descended from the famous family of the
town. Boy did she have some stories to tell!
If any of the listers find themselves in Poole one day do pop into the
church. The ladies are a mine of information!
