An article in my local paper yesterday says that the Dorset Record Office
has now put its parish register catalogue on-line, in an A-Z format. You
find your parish and the site tells you the date of the earliest and latest
parish register deposited at the Record Office.

(do wait for the banner down the side to download as this has all the
clickable links) I have not yet had time to check this myself so am just
hoping the information in the paper is correct! oubtless you will tell me
if it is not :-))

Please note - it is only the catalogue which is on line and not the parish
registers themselves! All it will tell you is what registers are deposited
at the RO and what dates they cover - a question which is often asked on
the list. There won't be any names!
