OK - I will unsub anyone immediately whose mail starts bouncing because
they have fitted a spam bar or spam filter because I am fed up with my mail
box filling up with all these spam filter bounces. It makes it very hard to
keep track of any genuine problems. I have posted about these twice before
but the bounces still keep on coming.
If you fit a spam filter you must check that you are still able to receive
mail from mailing lists. If not, I am afraid you will have to unsub and no
longer get mail from the Dorset list. Some spam bars do allow you to
programme in certain addresses into an accept list. If yours allows you to
do this, then please ensure you have the Dorset list or digest address in
this. Remember that if your programme works this way, and you post a
message to the list (having made it an acceptable address!), the replies
you receive are not likely to reach you as they will probably come from
addresses not on your accept list! I then get queries from the people who
are trying to help you because they wonder why their efforts to help are
being bounced as spam.
Think carefully before fitting one of these filters - they sound like a
good idea but they seem to cause more problems than the spam did in the
first place.
