Subject: [DOR] DAWE and BODLEY of Rampisham, Hooke, Godmanstone, Corscombe

Hi,
my 4x great grandfather was Thomas DAWE who married Grace Clarke
BARTLETT at Hooke in 1780 [ IGI has 1788 as the 0 is unclear ]. His family
moved with the Bartletts back to East Chinnock, Somerset, where I have many
family details. I cannot find the baptism record of Thomas DAWE born 1756
or 1757. Several of the family were christened Thomas Bodley DAWE and I
notice an IGI marriage in Godmanstone for 1715 where Ellis DAWE [ another
recurrent name ] married an Ann BODLEY. The Ancestry.com parish record CD
confirms this marriage was by licence. The LDS only have later Bishop's
Transcripts for this village and am unable to confirm this marriage or find
any children.

Is anyone related to this family who seem to have owned and rented land in
Dorset and Somerset? The Dorset Poll book for 1807 shows several owning
land at Benville [ Park ] in Corscombe.
