In addition to the Attwoolls and Bennetts of Portland, I have now done a spreadsheet listing Whites from Portland, arranged, as best as possible, into family groups. Mostly taken from the BVRI, my own research at the Dorchester PRO, and from the records of a couple of others, the work covers the period from approx 1700 to about 1870. As with the Attwoolls and Bennetts, the purpose of this is to try to get the names into some semblance of order so that I can start to sort the wood from the trees. It is not comprehensive, nor can I claim that it is 100% free from errors, mine or otherwise! I intend to expand on this with a visit to Dorchester in the near future, but for the time being, if anyone wants a copy, please shout - the sheet contains about 700 names and runs to about 13 pages.

Just to let everyone know that I have pulled together a substantial amount of information on the Bennett and Attwooll families on Portland - particularly for the 18th century. I've contacted members individually with this stuff where I know they have an interest, but I'd be more than happy to share this information with anyone else who is interested.
