I have a Dorset Mayo ancestral line that has some names which are hauntingly
similar:
1. William Mayo, born Friar Waddon, baptized Upwey on December 29th., 1800,
married to Rebecca Stone in 1831 in Piddlehinton, yeoman farmer in
Puddletown and Poxwell Manor, Dorset; father of:
2. Charles Mayo, baptized in Poxwell on June 3rd., 1849, married to Emily
Ann, farmer in Piddlehinton, living in Laurel Cottage for the 1881 census,
father of:
3. Ethel (c1874), Rebecca (c1876), Henry (c1877) and William (c1880).
Caution - this similarity could lead to unfortunately crossed lines in
some Mayo family trees!
Peter.
