Subject: [DOR] money values1890

Just received a copy of my husband's greatgrandfather's will of 1890.
In cash alone he had 1,766 pounds 7 shillings and 3 pence. He had
several insurance policies amounting to 4,000 pounds and 6 properties.
I take it he would be considered well off. But I wonder what
5,766pounds 7 shillings and 3 pence would be worth today in pounds and
in US dollars?
Any really good mathematicians out there that can solve this for me ?
TIA, Pat, in Michigan
