Hi Robert
Not sure if we have been in touch before but I do have a FOOT in my tree as
follows :
Mary FOOT married William JAMES at Semley 4/12/1782 like you I do not know
where she came from , her death is in the Semley records 2/2/1812 .
The James family were the Butchers/Grocers in Semley for many years . Semley
is certainly in the area you are talking about and your Joseph and my Mary
are the same age so a possible brother /sister link maybe . So many of my
Semley folk married into Dorset and the other way round , it does make it
hard to track and thats why I belong to both Dorset and Wiltshire lists .
For some reason Pinkney rings a bell with me so I shall look at my records
further .
