As some of you might know, Mary Galambos and I have been working with Frank Doss of MO and David Doss of KY with DNA testing. Frank Doss, like Mary and I, descends from Thomas and Frances Doss of Lincoln Co., KY (1850-1860 census). We got David's results today. He is, like Frank, a 5th generation down from Thomas & Frances Doss. This is what I've seen so far:

4 generations is 33.57%
8 generations is 55.88%
12 generations is 70.69%
16 generations is 80.53%
20 generations is 87.07%
24 generations is 91.41%
In comparing 25 markers, the probability that David W. Doss and Frank J. Doss shared a common ancestor within the last...
4 generations is 61.17%
8 generations is 84.92%
12 generations is 94.15%
16 generations is 97.73%
20 generations is 99.12%
24 generations is 99.66%

Both men are R1a1 and don't match any other DOSS testers so far.

David Doss of KY is not too interested in his genealogy. His sisters got him to take the test for us and they will be interested in learning what we have to do next. They are not members of this mailing list.
