Mabel Shukin of Castlegar passed away on Friday January 20, 2006 at the age of 91 years.

Mabel was born at Brilliant to Bill and Annie Tomilin April 4, 1914.

She married Fred Shukin on February 26, 1931 and they lived in Pass Creek and Tarrys until moving to Slocan Park, where they lived most of their lives until moving to Castlegar in 1987.

Mabel loved to cook for her family and friends, to crochet, and to tend to her garden.

She was predeceased by her son Fred in 1990, her husband Fred in 1991, her step-sister Mary in 1994, her sister Mary Wanjoff in 1995 and her daughter-in-law Elsie in 1995.

Left to mourn her passing are her daughter Florence (Peter) Osachoff of Osoyoos, her sister Anne Gorkoff of Robson, her step-brother Nick (Lidia) of Vancouver, 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild.

A private Funeral Service for Mabel was held in the Chapel of First Memorial Funeral Services ofn Monday, January 23, 2006 followed by the intrenment at the Brilliant Cemetery.

May She Rest in God's Heavenly Kingdom.
