* There are two photographs with the captions :

SUMMER OF '69 : This photo was found under the veranda at 69 Horley Road
(formerly Harris Street) in Beckenham. There is writing on the back which
states simply, "taken in 1969". Do you recognise these people? There is
a Green Corps Project working on the property undertaking river restoration
as well as making repairs to the house. Any information on the property
and its former inhabitants would be appreciated. Contact: Tracy, 0428

MAN OF THE CLOTH : This picture was among many unidentified family photos
found at Jim and Audrey JENKIN's (nee AUSTIN) home several years ago. The
clergyman is believed to have served in a Guildford church and his first

ADELONG (NSW) : The Adelong historical group opened its museum in October
and wants to hear from descendants of early residents, storekeepers, gold
miners, farmers etc. Adelong is in the foothills of the Snowy

ALBANY OPERA : Calling all past members of the Albany Light Opera and
Theatre Company. A 40th anniversary reunion celebration will be held at
the Port Theatre, Princess Royal Drive, Albany, on April

BAYSWATER : In August 1938, the Commonwealth Government compulsorily
acquired from Gold Estates of Australia (1903) Ltd, about 19 blocks of
land in the vicinity of Crowther, Frinton and Neville
streets, Bayswater. Does anyone know the reason for this? At some
stage during the 20 years of Commonwealth ownership, a mast was erected
in Crowther Street, but exactly when, or why, is

LT BRYAN'S FUNERAL : A Catholic burial was held at the East Perth
cemetery on June 2, 1901, for Lt John (Thomas) Joseph Bryan. Thousands
of people watched the funeral procession. It is hoped there are
photographs of the occasion. Lt Bryan is one of 8000 people buried at the
cemetery whose gravesites cannot be located. Contact: Graeme Gerrans, 21

BUTLER : Descendants of brothers Wilfred Hamilton BUTLER (born Victoria
1907) and Horace Arnold BUTLER (1910) are sought for the family

(1951). Horace married Laura BARRETT-LENNARD at Beverley in 1940 and

mother, Margaret Ann JENKINS (nee COLLINS) who died when he was
seven. Margaret married Edward (Ted) JENKINS on November 17, 1934, in
Perth, but they were living in Corrigin in 1938 when Arthur was
born. Arthur writes that he has no knowledge of any family members from
his mother's side. Did Margaret have any brothers and sisters? She was
born in County Tyrone, Ireland, in 1907. The Jenkins family were living

CONSTANDT : Great-grandfather Hermann Christian Detlef CONSTANDT
SCHUSTERMEISTER was born in Flensburg, Denmark, in 1838. He used
CONSTANDT as his surname, and married Caroline ANSTEY at Puseyvale in
South Australia. They had six children: Ameia (Annie) who married Dan
STEVENS; Rudolf, Anna Christina (John O'BRIEN), Dora (George
EDWARDS), Mary (Molly) married Herbert HORSNELL) and Christina (George

28-year-old cartographer attached to the 1954 North Kimberley survey and

Subiaco 50 years ago. Widow Ann Mary (BEECHE) MANN died in Subiaco aged

the death of her husband Charley. Lottie did not have any children and
she moved to Sunset Lodge Home in South Australia in the 1960s where she

MILLER : Great-grandparents Peter and Catherine MILLER arrived in WA
circa 1882-86 and are believed to have settled in Perth. Not much is
known about their life before their arrival in WA other than they lived for
a time in Cape Town, South Africa, where at least two children were
born - Ernest John (ca. 1876) and Peter (1880). Peter and Catherine
had five other children - Ben, Frank, Margaret (HANSEN), Katie
(MCIVOR), and Mary (TURVEY). Ernest John is buried in Karrakatta
