If someone was a railway porter in Sydney in the 1880's-1890's would there be records of employment still surviving and if so where would they be?

Also does anyone know if a Steam Mill Street still exists in Sydney . I have a copy from a birth certificate dated 1893 that states the family were living in this street . Have checked a Sydney street directory but I can't find it.
