Subject: Slightly off topic - floppy disks

Floppy disks generally have a maximum life of about 5 years or less.
After that the glue or binder that keeps the little microscopic
particles of iron on the plastic disk generally starts to let go and the
ferric oxide begins to deposit itself on the read/write heads in the
disk drive.

Trash them. Dispose of them. Don't give them to your local library or
school if you cherish them as friends.
