I have been trialling Mailwasher ( http://www.mailwasher.net/ ) where, like
John says of such sites, I can check to see what emails are spam (90%!) and
which I can delete, blacklist and bounce back to the sender as though my
email doesn't exist.

Has anyone else used this particular product? Is there a downside? It can
be downloaded & used for free from the site but you can also pay for a "Pro"
version. I can't seem to find much of a difference between the free version
and the "Pro" version.

Has anyone else used this?

Helen

spammers send mail which purports to come from a real address. I get one or
two each day lately which supposedly come from myself - that's how bad the
problem is getting.

your mail on the server before downloading, using either your ISP-supplied
mail reader (eg Mymail from Ozemail, iPrimus Webmail from Primus), or a
third-party program (eg Webwasher) or site (eg www.mail2web.com.au). All of
these solutions allow you to view and delete any suspicious mail on the
server, before you download it.
