Hi Helen,
The address is most likely Darling St Balmain or Rozelle. I have a
cousin who lives in Darling St at Rozelle The boundary according to my
map is near High St. The numbers start at Balmain wharf and increase
towards Rozelle so 488 would be between High St & Elliott St.

If you contact The Balmain Association Inc. Ph 9818 4954 or email
they may be able to help. One of their members
extracted most of the entries from the Sands PO Directory relating to
Balmain & Rozelle. The occupations are included. They also have a
range of books available.
