I think the Legacy Family Tree website has links to genealogical software
for both PALM and iPAQ pocket PCs. The PALM has its own operating system
and hence must have special Palm software. But the iPAQ and many other hand
helds use the Windows CE operating system and so any software written for
Win CE will run on them.

Something to watch for are the mobile phones that are now coming onto the
market that incorporate a pocket PC. Then you only have to carry one piece
of "hardware". :-)

I don't have a 'palm' but I do use an Ipaq which is also a hand held
computer. It links to my laptop or my pc. I took it with me on my last
visit to Sydney and found it invaluable while trotting through the
cemeteries. I use the voice recording feature to dictate headstone
inscriptions, the location and land marks around the grave(s) and also the
writing/drawing feature to inscribe headstone inscriptions. I could then
later download this information onto my laptop. I also backed this
information up on my pen drive. This meant I ended up with 3 copies of my
files for safe keeping until I got home and put it on my pc.
