Hello again - I forgot to mention that Capt James SHAW lived in Sydney, born
in Ireland in 1828 and disappeared around 1873. I think he may of sailed out
Melbourne a few times as well.

I was wondering if anybody could answer this for me. I am going on a hunch
and would like to know if a Sea Captain was murdered on a foreign trade run
say in an Asian country, would it have been reported back to the papers? My
GGG-Grandfather Captain James SHAW has disappeared (can't find the bugger
anywhere!) and I thought that the above could have been his demise. Time
frame would be around November 1873.



Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated
