My Grandmother,Jennie Duff, handed down an old family Bible that goes back six generations. The family record part is almost unreadable, but this is what I've been able to gleam from it.
William Duff born Aug 16, 1808 in Georgia
Married: Jane Duff, born May 8, 1809, in Sparta, White Co. West Tenn.
Children:
1. Rosana Duff, born 9/27/1830 in Sparta, Tenn
2. Emaline Duff, born 2/15/1833 in Corydon (?), Indiana
3. Dennis Duff was born 12/1/34 in Columbia Kentucky
4. George Washington Duff was born 3/5/1837 in Columbia, Kentucky
5. Martin Van Buren (my great-grandfather) was born 12/27/38 in Columbia, Kentucky (he died 9/2/1916 in Billings, Montana)
6. William Riley Duff was born 4/7/1842 at Columbia, Kentucky
7. Andrew Oliver Duff was born 12/19/1844 at Mt Carmel, Illinois
8. Melvin Calvin Duff was born 8/8/1847 in (unable to read)) Indiana
9. Lucinda Jane Duff was born 1/1/1849 in (unable to read) Indiana
There are some other names, one is Clopatra Ann Smith born 7/3/1844. I haven't figured out where they fit in yet. The last names are Johnson and Smith.
If anyone has anymore information on this family's history, I would greatly appreciate whatever you could pass on.
