I am interested in tracing the antecedents of Robert Hamilton MCCOLM,
born 22 November 1858 in Kirkmaiden, Scotland. His record of birth
lists his father as Robert Hamilton and his mother as Margaret McColm
and this is confirmed by a WW1 permit card. R. H. McColm was a
lighthouse keeper for virtually his whole life. He married Catherine
(Kate) Graham 20 September 1880 in Barncorkrie and died 2 November 1921
in Stranraer, the year after he retired. Kate Graham was also born in
Kirkmaiden, 18 February 1858.

I have a more or less complete chronology of R.H. McColm's postings at
various lights around Scotland.
