As requested by Sandy, I have posted further messages, including all the
info you posted to List earlier today, to Genealogy Newsgroups in UK & NZ
hoping we might reach one of the BROWN descendants Re the memorial window
in the Church at Tynron. I have also received the following reply from
Email I sent to one addresses Sandy gave on his site - didn't get me
anywhere as they've passed the buck to Historic Scotland! I had a letter
to them typed into my WP ready to go anyway, is it too late to send do you
think, Sandy?

Thank you for your enquiry. The Royal Commission on the Ancient and
Historical Monuments of Scotland surveys and records Scotland
archaeological and built heritage, and all information is deposited in
the National Monuments Record of Scotland. However, for the management
of listed buildings, such as Tynron Church, you would need to contact
Historic Scotland, and they are at:

Historic Scotland
Longmore House
Salisbury Place
Edinburgh EH9 1SH

Tel: 0131 668 8600

They also have a web site at:
www.historic-scotland.gov.uk

I hope that they are able to help you.

Yours sincerely
