Carol - I suppose you now have the info needed, but very quickly, this
is
how I have always gotten results :

Go To:
http://archiver.rootsweb.com/search.html

There is NO need to enter DUMFRIES-GALLOWAY as the new archiver
searches ALL the lists of surnames, areas, etc. (It will search for
those very words if you enter them. Then you will get a hit list of all

the messages that were sent out to those peole on the mailing list !)

Enter the words you are searching for - like Heironymous Merkin or
Scones, or Littletownland Wigtownshire.

Old habits like entering the List Name are hard to break - <G> - and I
have NEVER been prompted for a password - I don't even have one ! Or
maybe I do, but I gottit 2 years ago when I first came here, and have NO

idea whatsoever what it is now !
