Hello,You were all so helpful on my Esquire question, [Thanks again to everyone]
I thought I'd try this question again.
My GGGGgrandfather was EDWARD LATIMER he was born in HAMPLANSHIELD Dumfries Abt
1804
He married Janet or Jean Mounsey, [daughter of James Mounsey and Jane or Jean
White]
she was born April 13 1804, Skipmire, Parish Tinwald, Dumfrieshire.
Edward and Janet had 8 children, James Mounsey Latimer b.1834, Jane W. Latimer
b.1836
George W. Latimer b.1830, Alexander Mounsey Latimer b.1840, William Latimer
b.1842,
John Latimer b.1844, Susan Latimer b.???? Sophia Latimer b.????
Susan died young and is buried in Toronto Canada, Sophia died as an infant of
ship's fever.
all born Tinwald Parish and some where Bapt. Torthwald Manse.
I think they came to Canada around 1846 or 1847, finding Sophia's birth date would
help confirm
this.If anyone knows or is searching the Latimer name, and could help me I'd love
to know
if the above dates, places, and names are correct. Also EDWARD's parents,
grandparents, siblings, etc.? When they left Scotland, on what ship? I have a
very complete,
history of this family, in Canada, from 1861 on to the present. Some of this
family took the name
Lotimer around 1900.
Thanks Janis
