Actually, though Scots Origin may have all "existing" Parish Registers on
it, many Parish Registers don't exist any more or were never kept!

I too am researching some people from Minnigaff and Newton-Stewart during
the late 1700s early 1800s. When I read the "Statistical Account" for these
parishes covering that time period, lo and behold it clearly stated that NO
registers were kept for many years during this time period (over 30 year
chunks at a time were missing!).

So, I suggest you find out if these records even exist. You can find the
"Statistical Accounts" of Scotland, both the 1791 and 1845 versions at:
