Re the practce of sewing children into their clothing.

When I was in high school many years ago, one of the guys was sewn into
his long underwear. This was revealed to us during gym class when we had
to change into our gym shorts and shirts.
This unfortunate fellow reeked, to put it mildly. Some of my classmates
decided to take matters into their own hands. One day after gym class
they threw him into the showers.
So much for being "shewed intae your sarks!"
