Hi Tom and list members
My name is Diane WEBB and I live in Queensland Australia. I have been at this for 3 years.
My gggrandfather John GIRVAN b. abt.1852(maybe June) Kirkcudbright KKD d. 1903 Qld Aus.
married Mary Jane ALLEN in Maybole Ayrshire in 1877. In 1883 they came to Qld with my
g grandmother Mary Archibald GIRVAN age 2.
John's brother David b abt 1855 Kirkcudbright m. 1875 Kirkmabreck d. 1836 Qld., and his wife
Elizabeth (nee BLACK/BLAKE) b. abt1855 Lanarkshire and their children arrived in Qld in 1887.

John and David's parents were John GIRVAN b. 1817 Kirkcudbright and Agnes (nee WALLACE)
b abt 1810 Rerrick. They married in 1838 in Rerrick. We have found sons Robert b.1839 Rerrick and
William Wallace b 1841 Rerrick but have been unable to find John, David or any other children's births
from 1841.
A John GIRVAN was born in 1817 in Kirkcudbright to Robert GIRVAN and Mary (nee TAYLOR). Also
Ann b 1818 Grace b 1821 Ann b 1823 Grace b 1826, all in Kirkcudbright and Mary Murray b 1831 in
Tongland. We have found deaths for John GIRVAN and Agnes GIRVAN of approx correct age in 1883
in Kirkcudbright. Have also found a Andrew Murray GIRVAN marrying Mary HAUGH in 1856 but am unable to find his birth as yet.
Our Agnes GIRVAN (nee WALLACE) is possibly the daughter of William WALLACE and Mary KENNAN.
Sorry to ramble on so much but if anyone can make a connection or give me any ideas I would be delighted to hear from you.
