As it happens I found my grandfathers ship manifest this AM and so can tell
you what they did. My grandfather and his brother travelled from
Dumfriesshire to Canada in 1906. They left from Glasgow on 18 May 1906 and
arrived in Quebec on 28 May 1906. There were 10 of 507 passengers from
Dumfries. Surnames were Reid, McWhirter, Muirhead and McCowan. Also many
others from England, Scotland and Ireland.
